We are in the UK with a trip to show Britain what Maria’s Children is all bout. The trip is packed with interesting events and rehab performances. We start off in Stratford-upon-Avon, the native town of the universally praised Bard – William Shakespeare. The weekend of April 23rd – April 25th will see a grand annual celebration of the great Englishman’s birth anniversary in Stratford. As part of it Maria’s Children puts up a performance based on six of Shakespeare’s sonnets. MC’s company is mainly represented by adolescents with an orphanage background. We will also visit the Bards grave and his home and school. After that we travel to London and stay there for the whopping two weeks! There are lots of things scheduled between April 26th and May 10th. The highlights are: A number of art and drama events for children in London’s Pushkin House Several Theatre-on-the-Wheels performances of Pushkin’s fairytales A charity ball with a display of MC’ artwork Several drama master classes for MC from London’s amateur companies Apart from that we are anxious to see all those splendid museums London is famed for. Being an art studio MC has developed an extensive program for its children to see the National Gallery, the Tate and the Tate Modern as well as V&A Museum and the British Museum. We are back in Moscow on May 11th. |
