Summer camp 2004

Summer camp 2004

On August 6-17the sixth traditional creative camp “Nasha Semeyka (Our Big Unique Family) was held. This time we spent 12 days travelling by the motor ship “Belinsky” and for the first time we even reached the Solovetsky Islands. More than 70 people took part in the camp. They are: our friends (from USA and Switzerland as well), volunteers, and what is most important – children, as always. There were children from various Moscow orphanages and other Russian ones, boys and girls from Chechnya.

During the journey no one was ever bored. Various creative art schools worked every day; the children learnt some theatrical and improvisational elements, played many games. By the end of the journey 4 big colourful pictures were made. During our stops in Petrozavodsk and Myshkin we dressed as clowns and went to the hospital and local orphanage.

It was a wonderful journey, a fairytale we all – both adults and children – made for each other.
