Our programs
“Maria’s Children” began as an art center where children engaged in various creative activities—but little by little it expanded far beyond the walls of our studio. We taught children to draw, sculpt clay, do needlework, and much more—but never with the goal of turning them into professional artists. Our central mission was to help children express themselves creatively any way they could.
Art lessons are not the end in themselves. Even though many of our pupils have proven themselves to be talented artists, we believe that the most important thing is that creative pursuits help children to look at the world from a fresh perspective and to develop a proper system of internal values—one based not only on the will to succeed, but also on the desire to share success with others, to do something for others, and to live accordingly.
We currently conduct the following programs:
- Daily art classes in the studio
- Winter and Summer camps
- Weekend trainings
- “Maria’s Children” — The Children of Beslan
- Mural painting
- Italian Holidays
- Hello, England!
- Educational and social assistance
